Everything You Should Know about Phyrexia: All Will Be One

You’ve probably heard about the newest Magic the Gathering set, Phyrexia: All Will Be One. If you are like us here at Amazing Discoveries, you are probably also equal parts curious and excited. Lucky for you, your favorite local game store has compiled all the information you need ahead of release! In this blog, we will go over everything you need to know about Phyrexia, All Will Be One. 

Important Dates and Events

First, let's go over some important dates and events:

• Card previews for Phyrexia: All Will Be One will be held from January 17-25, 2023.
• Commander previews and decklists will be released on January 18, 2023.
• The complete card image gallery will be available on January 26.
• Prerelease events will take place from January 27-February 2, 2023.
• The tabletop release for Phyrexia: All Will Be One will be on February 10, 2023.
• The expansion will be released on Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic Online on February 7, 2023.
• Launch party events will be held from February 3-5, 2023.
• Our store will be hosting Store Championship events from February 25-March 5, 2023.
• WPN Premium Game Stores will have exclusive Commander Party events from March 10-12, 2023.
• The Compleat Edition bundle will be released on March 3, 2023.

Phyrexia: All Will Be One Lore

Now for the exciting part - the story of Phyrexia: All Will Be One. After Teferi, Saheeli, and others traveled to the past in the past in The Brothers' War, they now turn their attention to the looming threat of Phyrexia, where the Praetor Elesh Norn reigns supreme. The expansion takes place on the plane of Phyrexia and delves into the history of the Phyrexians and how Elesh Norn controls the plane with oil and metal.

Phyrexia: All Will Be One Products

Amazing Discoveries is thrilled to announce that the Phyrexia: All Will Be One expansion will have a variety of products available upon release. In addition to the standard Draft, Set, Jumpstart, and Collector Boosters, there will also be Bundles and Prerelease Kits available for purchase. We will have these products available in store and online for your convenience. In addition, there will be two Commander Precons released in support of the expansion. Make sure to check back with us for all your Phyrexia: All Will Be One needs, both in store and online.

Card Frames and Treatments

In terms of card frames and treatments, this expansion will feature Extended and Borderless treatments with a Showcase frame, as per usual for Standard releases. The Showcase Frame, called Borderless Ichor Showcase Cards, uses negative space to highlight the Phyrexians and is only available on cards with the Phyrexian creature typing. There will also be a Borderless Manga Frame treatment, which incorporates classic art to showcase the horrors of Phyrexia. Of particular note, horror manga artist Junji Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki, and Gyo) has provided his interpretation of Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, with a chilling depiction of the Praetor. Some of the Borderless Manga Cards will also offer alternate versions of characters if they were to become compleated in an alternate universe - hence why there is a variant of Koth, Fire of Resistance infused with metal and oil.
