Top 5 Cards in Darkwing Blast

In the history of YuGiOh, Blackwings have a long and tumultuous history. Darkwing Blast is the latest set to offer Blackwing support, but will this set help this archetype reach its former Tier 0 glory? In this blog, Amazing Discoveries will overview our top 5 cards in Darkwing Blast and see if any Blackwings make the list!

Ignis Phoenix, the Dracoslayer

While not a Blackwing, Ignis Phoenix, the Dracoslayer is a fantastic new addition to the Dracoslayer archetype. This is a fantastic support card that adds versatility and consistency to the archetype, making this card a must in any Dracoslayer deck. Not to mention the incredible art and secret rarity, Ignis Phoenix, the Dracoslayer is certainly going to be a chase as long as people are playing Dracoslayers.

Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous

Taking the “Polymerization on Legs” philosophy to the next level, Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous is a fantastic new addition to any deck looking to top out with big Fusion Monsters and win games quickly by special summoning these win conditions early. Just getting Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous into your GY gives you the ability to get huge monsters into play quickly, such as Grand-Guignol the Finale Dragon in the upcoming Photon Hypernova set next year. Any deck looking to use fusion monsters as a win con will need this card in their deck, and this will see play into the future for a long time coming.

Spright Sprind

Sprights are an archetype that has had trouble finding its footing in the past, especially when it comes to dealing with threats on the field. Spright Sprind helps this archetype with this weakness and helps make the archetype much more reliable and playable. In addition to Spright Double Cross, Sprights now have a much better time being competitive with other prevalent decks in the format.

The Bystial Lubellion

While most Bystial Monsters are great, The Bystial Lubellion seems to be really over the top. An incredible addition to the already-busted archetype, The Bystial Lubellion’s high rarity and function as a search card for this hotly sought after archetype makes this card a HUGE chase card from this set. Additionally, playing well with Branded Fusion is such a huge upside that this card will be a menace as long as it is legal to play.

Kashtira Fenrir

Whether you are looking to play a dedicated Kashtira strategy, or you simply need combo extenders or beneficial search cards, Kashtira Fenrir fills that spot and then some. This versatile card plays well in many decks, both strictly dedicated to and simply splashing for Kashtira monsters. Once you see a Kashtira deck do it’s thing in person, you will understand how powerful this unique and puzzling strategy can be, especially after seeing Kashtira Fenrir in action. Do not sleep on this card, it will be playable for a long time to come!

In the end, it does appear that even though Darkwing Blast does offer more Blackwing support, other archetypes are the ones that got the most powerful cards in the set. Even without a Blackwing in the top 5, this set is an incredible one with a bunch of awesome cards for many different decks.
